This recall is for certain vehicles that had the body domain controller (BDC) electronic control unit (ECU) replaced during a dealer service visit.
On certain vehicles, a programming error in the replacement BDC ECU could cause the automatic door locking function not to work. As a result, a door that is not locked could open in a severe crash.

BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the BDC ECU. To reduce the safety risk, BMW recommends that you should manually lock all doors before each trip until the recall repairs have been completed.
In certain conditions, the connection between the between fuse and fuse mount for the blower motor could overheat.

To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should only operate the blower in manual mode, and not use either the highest or lowest temperature settings until the recall repairs have been completed.
On certain vehicles equipped with front swivel-seats, the wiring harness under the seat may not be properly secured. As a result, the airbag wires could be damaged when the seat is moved. If this happens, the side airbag may not work properly in a crash.
Note: If the wiring to the side airbag is damaged, the SRS light will stay on in the instrument cluster.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the routing of the seat wiring harness and attach it correctly.
On certain Crosstrek Hybrid models, the harness terminal that supplies low-voltage power from the converter to the 12 V battery could corrode. Over time, the terminal could break and cause the 12 V battery not to charge. If this happens, the vehicle could suddenly lose drive power.

Remedy
Subaru will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the converter terminal mounting bracket. The dealer will also inspect the 12 V output terminals. If there is no corrosion, the dealer will install a protective cap on the terminals. If corrosion is found, the dealer will replace the 12 V output harness and terminals.
On certain trucks and chassis-cabs equipped with a 6.7 L Cummins diesel engine, the intake air heater relay could short circuit. This could happen even when the vehicle is parked, and the ignition switch is in the off position.

FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the intake air heater relay. FCA recommends that you should park your vehicle outside and away from other vehicles or buildings until the recall repairs are completed.
On certain plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), a wiring connector inside the transmission could short circuit. As a result, the engine could shut down and cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels.

On certain vehicles, the bolt for the ground terminal on the auxiliary heater may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the ground terminal and nearby parts could overheat and melt.

The ground wire and the connector holder will be replaced, if necessary. Subaru advises not remote start your vehicle using Subaru Starlink Connected Services (if equipped) or an aftermarket remote starter (if installed). Subaru also advises not leave the vehicle running while unattended, and that you should park it outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed.

On certain vehicles, if you spill liquid on the rear seat, the gateway control module could be damaged. If this happens, the vehicle may enter emergency mode and suddenly lose power to the wheels.
