Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 - Tire Selection and Rims. The French-language wording displayed on the tire placard does not fully comply with the revised requirements of the Standard, which came into force on September 1, 2009. As the variation in the French text is minor, and all required safety information is displayed on the placard, no corrective recall action is required. This technical non-compliance is deemed to be non-safety related.
On certain vehicles, the seat belt reminder chime may not sound to alert you that the front passenger seat belt isn't buckled. Canadian regulations require both a seat belt reminder sound and visual tell-tale when you switch the vehicle on, and the passenger isn't wearing their seat belt.
Safety Risk
A seat belt warning that doesn't work correctly may not remind you to ensure that your passenger is buckled. Not wearing a seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the instrument cluster software.
