The 2012 Ducati Monster 1100 Evo has 3 recalls, the most serious being rear wheel spokes that can develop cracks over time and cause the wheel to fail, potentially leading to a sudden loss of control.
The spoke cracking issue affects the rear wheel rim and can worsen progressively until the wheel structure gives way while the motorcycle is in motion. On the braking side, certain rear brake pads were incorrectly manufactured and the friction lining can separate from the metal backing plate. When that lining detaches, the pad loses its ability to grip the rotor effectively, extending stopping distances and reducing the rider's ability to slow down in time to avoid a collision.
