The 2018 Ducati Scrambler has 2 recalls, both addressing the same underlying defect: an exhaust valve cable routed close enough to the main positive battery wire that the two can make contact, causing a short circuit that raises the risk of fire.
When the exhaust valve cable rubs against or touches the battery wiring, it can damage the insulation and allow current to arc between the two. That kind of short circuit generates heat quickly and can ignite nearby materials. This is the only issue across both recalls, and the fix involves correcting the cable routing or protecting the wiring so contact cannot occur.
