The 2017 Genesis G80 has two recalls, both centered on engine compartment fire risks that can occur whether the vehicle is parked or being driven.
The anti-lock brake module can develop an internal short circuit that ignites a fire under the hood. Separately, water can work its way into the starter solenoid, also causing an electrical short that can lead to an engine compartment fire. Both defects carry the same real-world consequence, and neither requires the vehicle to be running for the risk to be present.
