The 2019 Genesis G80 has 4 recalls, with three of them posing a fire risk: a leaking turbocharger oil feed pipe, a short-circuiting ABS module, and water intrusion in the starter solenoid can each cause an engine compartment fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven.
The turbocharger oil leak only affects vehicles with the 3.3-liter V6 turbocharged engine. The ABS module and starter solenoid issues are separate electrical faults that can ignite independently of one another, and both can occur even when the car is sitting still. The fourth recall involves the front passenger airbag: the system may fail to suppress the airbag when an infant or child is seated in that position, meaning the airbag can deploy toward a small occupant in a crash.
