The 2021 Genesis G80 has 5 recalls, with the most serious being multiple fuel leak risks that can lead to a fire, along with front seatbelt pretensioners that can explode in a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin.
Three of the recalls involve fuel leaking from different points in the fuel system: a crossover fuel pipe with loose fittings, a high-pressure fuel pump connection on 2.5-litre turbo models, and a fuel rail pipe connection. All three create fire risk if fuel contacts an ignition source. The seatbelt concern affects the front driver and passenger positions, where the pretensioners can rupture during deployment rather than pulling the belt tight, turning a safety device into a hazard. There is also a fuel pump recall where the pump can fail entirely, cutting drive power while the vehicle is moving and raising the risk of a crash.
