The 2022 Genesis G80 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a fuel leak at the connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail that raises the risk of a fire, and a separate risk of front seatbelt pretensioners exploding during a crash and sending metal fragments into the cabin.
On the fuel delivery side, there are also two recalls covering fuel pump failure. In both cases, the pump can stop working and cut drive power without warning, leaving the car unable to accelerate or maintain speed. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why separate campaigns exist for this same failure. A sudden loss of power at highway speeds or in traffic raises the risk of a collision.
