The 2023 Genesis G80 has 6 recalls, the most serious being a fuel leak at the connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail that raises the risk of fire, and front seatbelt pretensioners that can explode during a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin.
On the fuel system side, there is a separate concern with the fuel pump itself, which can fail and cut drive power without warning, leaving the driver unable to accelerate or maintain speed in traffic. Two recalls address instrument panel display failures caused by software errors: in some cases the display may not appear at all when the vehicle is started, leaving the driver without a speedometer, fuel gauge, or warning lights, and in other cases the display may work intermittently or go dark during use. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the display issue, which is why it appears across more than one filing. There is also a software problem affecting automatic headlamp activation: if the multifunction switch is left in the off position, the low-beam headlamps may not turn on as ambient light drops at dusk, reducing the vehicle's visibility to other drivers and the driver's ability to see the road ahead.
