The 2023 Genesis G90 has 9 recalls, the most serious being seatbelt pretensioners that can explode during deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, potentially striking occupants.
A separate seatbelt concern involves the front seat belt anchors, which can detach in a crash and leave occupants unrestrained. Prior service work on some vehicles may have damaged those lower anchor points, compounding the risk. On the fuel system side, a connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail can leak, raising the risk of fire, and the fuel pump can fail and cut drive power without warning. The driver assistance system carries two related concerns: the Highway Drive Assist corner radar can falsely detect a vehicle in the lane ahead and trigger sudden, unintended braking when no hazard is present. Rounding out the list, the instrument panel display can go dark due to a software error, taking the speedometer and warning lights with it.
