The 2003 Infiniti FX35 has 13 recalls, the most serious being a passenger-side frontal airbag inflator that can rupture during deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a risk of serious injury or death.
Multiple recalls address this same airbag inflator defect, including a follow-up concern that a prior repair involved an incorrectly folded airbag cushion that can tear during deployment and reduce protection. On the brake side, the front brake caliper mounting bolts may not have been tightened to specification, allowing the caliper to rotate or break free from its bracket and cause a significant loss of braking ability. There is also a drivetrain concern: propeller shaft bolts on some vehicles may be loose, which can allow the shaft to detach while driving and create a crash risk.
The remaining recalls relate to lighting and labeling. Stop, tail, and turn signal lamps may appear too dim at certain angles, reducing how visible the vehicle is to other drivers. Headlamp output on some vehicles does not meet required photometric levels, which can reduce road illumination. A rear combination lamp assembly also failed compliance testing. One label recall involves a child seat tether anchor cover with a symbol that is slightly smaller than required.
