2017 Isuzu Nrr

The 2017 Isuzu NRR has 4 recalls, the most serious involving rear suspension and drivetrain issues that can cause loss of vehicle control or a stall in traffic.

Starting with the suspension, the U-bolt nuts that clamp the rear axle in place may not have been torqued correctly and can work loose over time. When the axle shifts out of alignment, the propeller shaft can separate from the drivetrain entirely, cutting power to the rear wheels and stalling the truck. Related to the rear axle, locking bolts on the left rear wheel bearing hub may also be insufficiently tightened, allowing the wheel assembly to drift outward from the axle housing. That movement degrades steering response and reduces braking effectiveness, raising the risk of a crash. On the structural side, metal burrs left on the transmission crossmember during manufacturing can crack and break the studs that hold the transmission to the frame. With the transmission no longer properly supported, gear shifts may become erratic or fail to engage. There is also a recall covering the fire extinguisher carried on the truck, which may not discharge properly if needed in a fire.
