1998 Isuzu Rodeo

The 1998 Isuzu Rodeo has 4 recalls, the most serious being an electrical defect where a fractured engine wiring ground connection can confuse the powertrain computer into cutting fuel, causing a no-start condition or sudden stall while driving.

Two recalls involve the rear suspension. On some vehicles, a rear axle bolt nut can work loose over time, which may allow the rear axle lower link bracket to shift. Separately, vehicles primarily operated in provinces that use heavy road salt may experience accelerated corrosion near the rear suspension lower link mounting brackets, weakening that structure sooner than expected. There is also a fuel system concern limited to V6 models: a rubber hose in the evaporative emissions system runs close enough to the exhaust pipe that it can crack, allowing fuel vapors to escape.
