On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the top-view camera to display instead of the rearview camera image when you are reversing. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when reversing.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 360-degree park assist camera.
Safety Risk
A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Polestar will notify owners in writing and send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.

On certain motorcycles, the brakes could drag due to corrosion of the brake caliper piston bore. If undetected, increased brake drag could adversely affect vehicle stability and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Note: This condition is more likely to occur on motorcycles subjected to a corrosive external environment, especially those in coastal environments.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install new front and rear brake calipers.

On certain vehicles equipped with a trailer lighting control module, or that had a trailer lighting control module installed as an aftermarket accessory, water may enter the module and connector, and could cause wiring corrosion and damage to the module. This could result in an electrical short to ground, which could cause an uncommanded seat belt pretensioner deployment, a burning smell and/or an increased risk of fire, even when the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. This may also cause turn signals to flash rapidly as well as cause a loss of the instrument cluster display, heater and air conditioning controls, and multimedia system (radio, screens, SYNC). An electrical short could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will add a drainage hole to the driver’s door stepwell and incorporate a fuse into the vehicle wiring harness.

On certain vehicles, an incorrect dimensional characteristic of the fuel pumps upper body can result in a misalignment of the armature shaft, which may cause some fuel pumps to experience poor brush-to-commutator contact conditions. In addition use of a 10 percent ethanol blend fuel can cause a film built-up that creates a high resistance between the brush and the commutator. The misaligned armature shaft prevents the brush and the commutator from making sufficient contact to overcome the high resistance film build-up between the brush and commutator. As a result the fuel pump may produce less pumping pressure than required to supply the fuel injection system resulting in poor starting or hesitation. Loss of propulstion, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly.

On certain vehicles, the rear brake hoses could fail and cause a progressive brake fluid leak. If this happens, there could be reduced braking.
Note: This problem could cause a change in brake pedal feel and travel.
Safety Risk
Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and replace or reroute the rear brake hoses, as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the passenger frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the passenger airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the passenger side frontal airbag inflator with a new, non-ammonium-nitrate-based inflator.

In order to meet government NCAP crash testing standards, changes to the side impact protection system were recently introduced into production. These changes could cause the wiring harness that sends the signal to inflate the side impact airbag to become damaged. Under certain crash conditions, the side impact airbag may not deploy.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a revised wiring harness that provides a more protected path for the wires.
