Should humidity penetrate a pouch, it could lead to cell separator decay, which could allow an internal short within the cell and increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

On certain motorcycles a section of the wire harness located above the headlight is routed incorrectly. As a result, turning the handlebar can put excessive pulling force on the harness particularly where it is secured by a rubber-coated metal clamp. Abrasion of the wire harness sheath and the wire insulation caused by the clamp can lead to malfunction of the turn signals, instrument lights, indicator lights, or fuel gauge. Malfunction of any of these items could create the risk of an accident resulting in injury or death.
