Certain motorcycles may not have adequate clearance between the front disc brake pads and the caliper assembly. Heat build-up to repeated hard braking at high speed, can cause the brake pad backing plate to expand and bind in the caliper. If this occurs, the brake pads will continuously contact the brake rotor causing overheating, possible rotor distortion and reduced brake performance.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Front brake pads and rotors will be inspected and replaced if necessary.
On certain vehicles, the wiring for the steering wheel-mounted airbag could be damaged by sharp metal edges that may be present on the steering wheel core. This could disconnect the airbag, causing it not to work and turning on the airbag (SRS) warning light. This problem could also cause the airbag to deploy suddenly without a crash.
Safety Risk
A driver-front airbag that does not deploy properly in a crash could increase the risk of injuries. A sudden airbag deployment when there is no crash could also create a risk of injury.
Remedy
Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the steering wheel wiring and install a protective cover over the steering wheel core.

On certain 318I, 325I and M3 vehicles, elevated pressure in the cooling system due to overheating could result in cracking of the heater core end piece. Should this happen, coolant could be expelled onto the lower right leg of the driver, possibly resulting in personal injury and/or fogging of the interior surfaces of the windows causing reduced driver vision.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
A thermistatic bypass valve will be installed to control coolant temperature in the heater core. Also, a new design radiator cap will be installed to control pressure and provide greater overflow.

On certain vehicles, the electric power steering (EPS) control circuit board may have been contaminated during manufacturing. This could result in an intermittent or permanent sudden loss of power steering assist while driving. Steering control can be maintained, as the vehicle will revert to a manual steering mode, but will require greater driver effort. The sudden change in steering effort may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the EPS rack and pinion gear assembly.

Volkswagen is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Beetle vehicles, manufactured from February 2012, through August 2012, and equipped with leather sport seats. If the right front passenger seat gets wet, the occupant control module may not properly detect the presence of a child restraint installed in the seat.
Safety Risk
If the control module does not detect a child seat installed, the airbag will not turn off. If the airbag does not turn off, in the event of a crash necessitating front airbag deployment, a child secured in the child seat may be at an increased risk for serious injury.
Remedy
Volkswagen will notify owners, and replace the control modules, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during January 2013. Owners may contact Volkswagen at 1-800-822-8987.
