This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2021-020.
On certain vehicles, the stop lamp switch may not have been installed properly causing and intermittent contact that could repeatedly cause the switch to cycle on and off. Over time, this may result in the stop lamp relay sticking in the on position, causing the stop lamps to remain illuminated. This could also impair the brake-shifter interlock, allowing the vehicle to inadvertently be shifted out of park position. These situations could increase the risk of a crash or a vehicle rollaway causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the stop lamp switch for proper installation, if the switch is not installed correctly it will be repositioned and the stop lamp relay will be replaced.
Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. Some vehicles equipped with LED headlamps were built with defective support brackets which can cause the daytime running lamp light guide to shift out of design position. If this occurs, the support bracket can melt due to the increased exposure to the LED light energy. This can cause melted material to partially block the end of the light guide, subsequently causing a loss of lighting performance which could result in failure to meet the daytime running lamp light output requirements of the standard. This could result in the vehicle being less visible to other drivers, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The rear license plate lamp housing may fall out and fail to illuminate the license plate properly as required by the standard.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace both rear license plate lamp housings with an updated version.

A safety defect may exist in some aftermarket Trailer Tow Light Control Modules supplied by Mopar as a service replacement part. The trailer tow lighting control module may contain a software error that may result in inoperative trailer brake lights after the first actuation of the brakes. Towing a trailer with inoperative brake lights may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
FCA Canada will notify owners who may have a suspect Trailer Tow Kit, and replace the Trailer Tow Light Control Module if required.
On certain V8 Elite model vehicles equipped with LED headlamps, the use of the auto headlights mode may result in an increased electrical resistance of the contact points in the multi-function switch. Over time, this could cause the headlights to flicker and/or intermittently turn off while driving. An interruption in headlight function could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the multi-function switch with a switch containing redesigned contacts.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Canada is conducting a voluntary Customer Satisfaction Notification Program involving certain vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will update the Powertrain Control Module software to improve activation timing of the backup lamps. This updated software will turn the backup lamps on earlier, indicating to other road users that the driver has selected reverse gear. This action is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retro reflective Devices.
