The affected vehicles have a parking brake that may not fully engage when applied. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

During assembly, in order to prevent automatic transmission damage during rail transport, the key interlock is disabled by leaving the delivery mode connectors unconnected. The connectors on some vehicles may not have been connected during pre-delivery service at dealers or distributors. If not connected, it could allow for the ignition key to be removed in a gear other than PARK gear position, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard, and could cause unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury and/or property damage.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V vehicles manufactured between September 6, 2003, and June 11, 2007, currently registered, or originally sold, in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, snow or water containing road salt or other contaminants may corrode the front brake hose fitting at the caliper.

On certain motorcycles, the brake pad retaining clips (also known as "R" clips) may not have been installed correctly. As a result, the brake pad retaining clips, securing pin and bracket could fall out while riding. If this happens, you could have reduced braking.
