VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH GASOLINE ENGINES AND MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. THE UNDERBODY HYDRAULIC CLUTCH LINE HEAT SHIELD IS TOO SHORT, ALLOWING THE PLASTIC CLUTCH LINE MATERIAL TO BE DIRECTLY EXPOSED TO EXHAUST TEMPERATURES. IT IS POSSIBLE TO EXCEED THE MELTING TEMPERATURE OF THE CLUTCH LINE MATERIAL.

Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE PROPER LENGTH HEAT SHIELD.
On certain motorcycles, two (2) bolts of incorrect length were fitted to the front caliper. Insufficient thread engagement of the bolts could result in an insufficient clamping load on the joint. During routine maintenance of brakes there is a potential for the threads in the caliper be damaged or stripped. If unnoticed and the caliper is refitted, there is a possibility of front caliper coming loose which could result in a crash causing personal injury or death.
Safety Risk

On certain vehicles, a fuel pump relay within the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) could fail, causing the engine to stall or to fail to start. Engine stalling would result in a loss of motive power, which, in conjunction with driver reactions and traffic conditions, could increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a revised fuel pump relay external to the TIPM.

DURING ASSEMBLY OF THE FRAME, A FILLET WELD THAT JOINS THE INNER STEERING GEAR ATTACHMENT REINFORCEMENT TO THE FRAME RAIL, WAS OMITTED.
Safety Risk
DUE TO HIGH STEERING LOAD EVENTS, VEHICLES CAN EXHIBIT BROKEN STEERING GEAR ATTACHING BOLTS OR FRAME RAIL CRACKING AT THE STEERING GEAR ATTACHING POINT INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLES FOR CRACKS IN THE FRAME RAIL. VEHICLES THAT SHOW CRACKS WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH REINFORCEMENT PLATES. VEHICLES THAT ARE FOUND TO BE FREE OF CRACKS WILL HAVE A SLOT CUT IN THE CROSS MEMBER AND THE FILLET WELD WILL BE ADDED.
METAL FUEL LINES WITH AN INCORRECT CONTOUR WERE INSTALLED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE INCORRECT CONTOUR CAN CAUSE THE METAL FUEL LINE TO RUB AGAINST THE INTAKE MANIFOLD.
Safety Risk
PROLONGED RUBBING OF THE FUEL LINE AGAINST THE INTAKEMANIFOLD COULD CAUSE A FUEL LINE LEAK, AND RESULT IN AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIREIF THE LEAKING FUEL LINE IS EXPOSED TO A SOURCE OF IGNITION.
Remedy
REPLACE FUEL LINE WITH CORRECTLY CONTOURED FUEL LINE.
On certain vehicles, the engine oil cooler lines could fail, causing an oil leak. Oil may contact a hot engine or exhaust component, which could result in a fire. Oil may also be sprayed onto the tires and/or brakes, which could adversely affect vehicles stability. As well, engine oil spilt on the roadway could endanger other road users by making the roadway unexpectedly slippery. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury.
On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag module.
