This could cause the secondary hood latch to remain in the open position when the hood is closed. If the vehicle were to be driven with the primary hood latch disengaged, there is a potential that the secondary hood latch may not hold the hood closed as designed while the vehicle is in motion. If this were to occur, it could compromise the driver’s ability to see the road and its users, as well as cause damage to the windshield. IF THE BOLT IS LOOSE, THE GAS STRUT IS OVER-PRESSURIZED, AND THE FREQUENCY OF OPENING AND CLOSING CYCLES IS HIGHER THAN FOR THE AVERAGE CUSTOMER, THE BOLT CAN FAIL.
PERSONAL INJURY COULD OCCUR IF THE BOLTS BREAK ALLOWING THE LIFTGATE TO FALL SUDDENLY.
DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR LOOSE FASTENERS, IF THE FASTENERS ARE LOOSE, THE STRUT (AND INTEGRAL BOLTS) WILL BE REPLACED. IF THE BOLT SHOWS EVIDENCE OF TORQUE, THE BOLT WILL BE REMOVED, LARGER WASHERS WILL REPLACE THE EXISTING WASHER AND THE BOLT WILL BE REINSTALLED AND HAND TIGHTENED TO THE TARGET TORQUED.

On certain motorcycles, the screws holding the side stand switch may loosen and fall out due to engine heat and vibration. If this happens, the side stand switch will not function correctly, making it possible to ride the motorcycle with the side stand in the down position. In the event of a crash, incomplete body welding may provide inadequate protection to occupants, increasing the risk of an injury.

On certain vehicles, the child safety lock on the left-rear door may not work properly. As a result, the door could be opened from the inside of the vehicle when the safety lock is in the "ON" position. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2024-157. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair.
