AN INCOMPATIBILITY CAN EXIST BETWEEN THE MINERAL OIL SUPPLIED BY CASTROL AND THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM OF THESE VEHICLES.
Safety Risk
THE BRAKE PEDAL FEEL CAN VARY, ESPECIALLY FOLLOWING A PROLONGED PERIOD OF INACTIVITY AND HIGHER PEDAL PRESSURE MAY BE REQUIRED. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF BRAKING CAPABILITY AND INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL DRAIN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND REFILL THE SYSTEM WITH NEW MINERAL OIL. THE AFFECTED SPARE BOTTLES WILL ALSO BE REPLACED.
On certain vehicles operated in areas of heavy road salt usage, the front impact sensors may corrode between the sensor bushing and sensor bracket. Over time, the corrosion may cause a crack to develop in the sensor case allowing water intrusion and short circuit of the sensor. This could result in delayed deployment of the driver and passenger front airbags during a vehicle crash, increasing the risk of personal injuries or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the front impact sensors.

Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. Although the daytime running lamps incorporate a feature that temporarily deactivates them on the side of the vehicle where the turn signal lamp is activated, one or both of the daytime running lamps could remain deactivated after repeated cycling of the turn signal switch. A loss of daytime running lamp illumination could render the vehicle less visible to other motorists and to pedestrians during daylight hours, possibly resulting in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will update the instrument panel module software.

Certain motorcycles may have an incorrectly routed front Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) sensor cable. If certain service procedures are performed, for example, a front tire change which involves removal of the front left brake caliper, it is possible for the ABS sensor cable to be routed incorrectly when the caliper is reinstalled. If this happens, the sensor cable can come into contact with, and rub/chafe against, the front brake disk. Over time, if the chafing becomes severe, it is possible to lose the ABS function.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will attach additional retaining clips to the ABS sensor cable.
THE SUPPLEMENTARY AIR BAG INFLATABLE RESTRAINT CAUTION LABEL LOCATED ON THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT CONTAIN THE STATEMENT, "DO NOT INSTALL REARWARD FACING CHILD SEATS IN ANY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT POSITION." Safety Risk
CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: OPERATORS COULD FAIL TO NOTICE AND HEED THE WARNING LABEL.
Remedy
A NEW CAUTION LABEL, WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO OWNERS. OWNERS CAN INSTALL THE LABEL OR, IF THEY WISH, CAN HAVE THEIR DEALER INSTALL THE LABEL FOR THEM.

Tire failure could cause the driver to lose vehicle control, which may result in a crash. Also, during tire failure, rapid deterioration can produce debris. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Retailers will replace affected tires.
