Covers will be removed from vehicles and owners will be reimbursed for parts and labour.
On certain vehicles equipped with the passive Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system, the function may not operate properly due to the wrong instrument cluster and steering wheel being installed. As a result, drivers may not be able to clearly signal their intentions to turn, change lanes, which could increase the risk of a crash.
On certain vehicles, the driver side floor mat anchors could break over time which could allow the floor mat to slide forward and potentially allowing the accelerator to become stuck in the wide open position. A fully depressed accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to slow or stop the vehicle. This could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver side floor mat and possibly the accelerator pedal cover.
On certain vehicles, the occupant classification system (OCS) software developed for optional Multi-Contour seats may not properly classify an adult occupant sitting in the front passenger seat when the seat massage feature is activated.
