The accessory FJR13 saddlebags cover the original units rear reflectors and must therefore have a reflector installed on each saddlebag lid. The saddlebag kit is supplied with red reflectors that your dealer is required to install during the Pre-delivery service. However, certain motorcycles have been released without having the reflectors installed. This situation results in the motorcycle not being in compliance with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and the reduced conspicuity could result in an accident causing injury or death.
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE VEHICLE CAPACITY WEIGHTS AS STATED ON THE TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL ARE IN ERROR.
Safety Risk
THIS INFORMATION COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN CONSUMERS LOADING THEIR VEHICLES BEYOND THE GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING (GVWR).
Remedy
OWNERS WILL BE SENT REPLACEMENT LABELS WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL THEM. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 14, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MITSUBISHI AT 1-800-222-0037.

Safety Risk
IF THE TETHER STRAP IS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED TO THE TETHER ANCHOR, THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT MAY NOT BE SUFFICIENT RESTRAINED. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE CHILD COULD BE INJURED.
Remedy
A LETTER OUTLINING THE PROBLEM WILL BE SENT TO OWNERS ALONG WITH A STICKER CONTAINING THE CORRECT INSTRUCTIONS AS WELL AS INSTRUCTIONS ON WHERE TO AFFIX THE STICKER IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 29, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MITSUBISHI AT 1-888-648-7820.

On certain vehicles, the owner's manual does not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 210. The manual does not contain language on the adjustment of the head restraints when using the user-ready tether anchorages. Improper placement of the tether strap could result in insufficient restraint of the child restraint system.

On certain vehicles, the compliance label does not meet the requirements of CMVSS 120. The label was printed with incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and Gross Axle Weight Rating data. The incorrect GVWR / GAWR data is 2,380 kg / 1,300 kg. The correct GVWR is 1,900-2,015 kg and the GAWR is 1,035-1,210 kg.
On certain vehicles, the certification label does not meet the requirements of CMVSS 120. The Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR) on the label exceeds the load carrying capacity of the minimum size tire listed on the label.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Owners will be provided with vehicle certification label overlays containing corrected information relative to vehicle GAWR and tire size.
CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS."
