If this happens, the crankshaft could break and cause a sudden engine failure. A driver may hear loud noises and see warning lights on the dash immediately before the engine fails.

An engine failure could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loose pulley could separate from the engine and cause damage. If it separates from the vehicle, it could become a hazard for bystanders or other drivers.
Remedy

Fluid may enter the driver's door module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board.
