On certain vehicles, the wrong rear axle shaft bolts may have been installed by a Ford dealer during recall 24S05 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-083). As a result, the bolts could loosen and cause a rear wheel to lock up or to separate from the vehicle. This could also cause a loss of power to the wheels or the vehicle to move when it's parked and the parking brake isn't applied.

A rear wheel that locks up suddenly or a wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could create a hazard for others.
