On certain motorcycles, incorrect programming may cause the engine to stall. This could happen when downshifting (if the clutch lever is not fully pulled in) or when the throttle is opened from idle. Also, the engine warning light may not turn on when a part fails. This problem could also cause the engine warning system to turn on and give limited throttle response.
Safety Risk
A sudden engine stall could increase the risk of a crash. A sudden lack of acceleration could surprise the rider, and in certain situations, could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to update the engine control unit (ECU) software.

On certain vehicles, the cruise control actuator cable may be broken due to insufficient strength. Also included are certain 2000-2001 minivans built between March 31, 1999 and March 31, 2001, that have had the cruise control repaired and possibly had a defective cable installed during that repair. It is possible that the broken actuator cable may be out of position and could interfere with the operation of the accelerator cable, preventing a decrease in engine speed while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the actuator cable.

NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2004-2006 ARMADA, TITAN, INFINITI QX56 AND MODEL YEAR 2005-2006 FRONTIER, PATHFINDER AND XTERRA VEHICLES. THE INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE (IPDM) ASSEMBLY CONTAINS AN ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) RELAY THAT HAS A DIODE FOR ELECTRICAL CURRENT NOISE REDUCTION. THE ECM RELAY MAY ALLOW SILICON VAPOR TO FORM AND, OVER TIME, THE SILICON EVAPORATES FROM THE DIODE MOLDING WHICH CAUSES SILICON OXIDE TO DEVELOP ON THE ECM RELAY CONTACT DUE TO ARCING.
Safety Risk
THIS COULD CAUSE ENGINE STALLING INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ECM RELAY INSIDE THE IPDM ASSEMBLY. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 6, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
On certain motorcycles, the mounting clamp for the oil cooler hoses could allow the hoses to rub together. If this happens, damage to the hoses could create an oil leak on or near the rear tire.
Safety Risk
An oil leak on or near the rear tire could affect control of the motorcycle and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ducati will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to an authorized dealer to install an oil cooler hose spacer.

On certain vehicles, the engine oil cooler stud (onto which the oil filter is mounted) could fail. This could cause an engine oil leak, which could illuminate the instrument panel's engine oil warning lamp. Abnormal noise and rough engine performance may also be noticed and, in the worst case, the engine could fail and stop suddenly while the vehicle is in motion. Engine failure would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the engine oil cooler connector stud.
