The 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a throttle cable defect where the inner sleeve can shift out of position and prevent the throttle from closing fully, leaving the rider unable to reduce engine power.
The steering system carries a separate concern: an electronic steering lock can fail to release even after the engine starts, meaning the rider may pull away from a stop with the front wheel unable to turn, which can cause a low-speed tip-over or loss of control. On the engine side, the motor can stall unexpectedly while downshifting or maneuvering at low speed with the clutch disengaged, cutting drive power at a moment when the rider may be leaning through a turn or navigating traffic.
