The 2017 Genesis G90 has 5 recalls, all centered on fire risk: oil leaking from turbocharger feed pipes onto hot exhaust components, and a starter solenoid that can short-circuit and catch fire while the car is parked or in motion.
All five recalls affect fire-related defects across two systems. On the engine side, the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and its connections can deteriorate or develop a loose seal, allowing oil to drip onto the hot exhaust manifold and ignite. Prior repair attempts under an earlier campaign did not fully resolve this issue, and vehicles repaired under that earlier recall also require the current fix. These turbocharger oil leak recalls only affect vehicles equipped with the 3.3-liter turbocharged engine. Separately, water can enter the starter solenoid and cause an electrical short that starts a fire in the engine compartment, whether the vehicle is running or sitting parked.
