The chassis wire harness can also chafe against the leaf spring bracket, and depending on which wires are worn through, the engine can stall or anti-lock brakes can lose function. There is also a suspension concern: axle stabilizer bracket bolts can crack and break, allowing the bracket to fall off and become a hazard for other vehicles on the road.
