The 2021 Isuzu FTR has 4 recalls, the most serious involving a loose steering knuckle bolt that can increase the turning radius and make it difficult to steer left, raising the risk of a crash. A separate recall covers a broken starter ground cable that, if the engine is cranked repeatedly, can cause the starter to route electrical current through the power steering hose, heating it until it ruptures and potentially causing a fire. On the safety systems side, the Mobileye collision warning camera cable may have been routed incorrectly, damaging the wiring and overloading the circuit in a way that can also lead to a fire. There is also a suspension concern: bolts on the axle stabilizer bracket can crack and break, allowing the bracket to fall off the vehicle and become a hazard for other drivers on the road.
