Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 205 - Glazing Materials. Air may have been trapped in the windshield during manufacturing. Over time, this could cause the appearance of defects within the windshield, such as air bubbles, contrary to the requirements of the standard. These defects would reduce driver visibility through the windshield, and could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect windshields and replace as necessary.

On certain vehicles equipped with Bose audio systems that have separate speaker amplifiers mounted behind the rear seat back. Under high ambient temperature conditions, the amplifier circuit board could develop a short circuit due to electrolyte leakage from a capacitor mounted on the board. If a short circuit occurs, one or more transistors could overheat causing smoke or the possibility of an amplifier fire.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealer will replace the amplifier circuit board on affected vehicles.

Certain vehicles may have incorrect Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software installed. In the event a driver assist system (e.g. adaptive cruise control) initiates automatic braking and aborts again during the early stage of brake pressure increase, a low residual pressure could remain in the hydraulic brake system. As a result, the braking system could continue applying minimal pressure with the brake pad contacting the rotor, and may heat up when driving is continued. Constant brake pad application over longer periods of driving could lead to the brake fluid heating in the brake caliper, resulting in higher pressure in the brake system. This could reduce brake performance, and increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will update the software for the ESP.

On certain vehicles built with an 8.4” radio display, 360 degree surround view camera system, and seat back video screens, the rearview camera image may be displayed even after the transmission is shifted out of reverse. This could cause a possible distraction for the driver. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to turn off within 10 seconds after shifting from reverse gear.
Safety Risk
A driver that is distracted could have an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy
FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the radio software.

Safety Risk
A loss of control can create the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Mitsubishi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the front cross-member (subframe). This could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the front brake caliper mounting bolts.
Certain passenger vehicles were built with missing or under-torqued steering gear attachment bolts. On certain 1992-1995 four-door sedans and three-door hatchbacks, and 1993-1995 two-door coupes, located in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces, the engine hood secondary latch may corrode and not operate if the latch is not clean and sufficiently coated with lubricant. This may cause the secondary latch to stick in the open position as a result of the corrosion. If the primary latch is not properly locked and the secondary latch is stuck open, the engine hood could fly open restricting the driver's vision and possibly result in a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will lubricate the hood latch. Also, a maintenence instruction label will be installed next to the latch.
