On certain vehicles, a connector pin inside the engine wiring harness may have damaged by a testing tool during vehicle assembly. This could cause a loss of power to the ignition coils, resulting in intermittent spark firing or engine stalling. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the damaged connector pin within the ignition wiring harness coupler. In addition, the central coupler (bus bar) that the ignition wiring harness attaches to will be replaced, in case it has incurred damage by the connector pin.

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 - Tire Selection and Rims. The Tire and Loading Information Label may contain incorrect tire size and inflation pressure information. Incorrect inflation pressure and/or use of replacement tires of an incorrect size and load rating may result in tire damage and could adversely affect vehicle handling, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the Tire and Loading Information Label and install a revised label if necessary

On certain vehicles, the wiring harness for the telematics control unit could get stuck between the brake light switch and the brake pedal. If this happens, the brake lights could remain on. Additionally, the vehicle could be started and could be shifted into gear without the need to press the brake pedal. It is also possible that if a driver exits the vehicle through the cargo compartment, the transmission may not shift to Park automatically. This could result in unintended vehicle movement.
Safety Risk
A vehicle that moves unexpectedly could create the risk of a crash. Brake lights that do not work properly could result in road users being confused of the driver's intentions, and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install an additional cable tie on the wiring harness for the telematics control unit.

On certain vehicles, the seat belt buckle tongue may not fully eject from the buckle assembly when the release button is pushed slowly. This condition could also result in a partial latch of the tongue in the buckle. In the event of a vehicle crash, the vehicle occupant may not be properly restrained, possibly resulting in personal injury or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver and right front passenger seat belt buckles.

On certain vehicles, the rear brake tube may contact an underbody crossmember during normal vehicle operation and eventually wear a hole in the tube. If the tube becomes perforated, a reduction in braking will occur at the rear wheels, increasing stopping distances and increasing the risk of a vehicle crash without prior warning.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Vehicles will be inspected and a rubber isolator will be installed on the brake tube. Those vehicles exhibiting contact that have more than 75,000km will have the brake tube replaced with the production tube and isolator.

On certain vehicles, improper heat treatment of the front hub assemblies may allow the development of a circumferential crack on the roll formed end of the hub when vehicle loading is applied. This condition can result in axial movement of the wheel, causing front end noise and steering wheel shudder, and the potential for wheel detachment and/or loss of steering control resulting in a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the front hub assemblies.

Complete fracture of the housing can result in separation of the wheel spindle from the axle housing. Should this occur, the dual rear wheels and tires mounted on the spindle would detach and roll free from the vehicle endangering persons who may be nearby. Although ford canada is not aware of any reports of related field problems, it has been determined by laboratory testing
On certain vehicles, the brake pedal pushrod prevailing torque nut attachment may not have been adequately tightened and can disengage from the pushrod bolt resulting in a loss of the hydraulic braking system.
On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the driver-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function.
Safety Risk
If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury.
Remedy
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver-front airbag .
Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

Remedy
Dealers will install a new accelerator cable.
