Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. The child seat tether welds on the second-row seat back frame may be insufficient, which can reduce the seat's ability to properly restrain a child during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

On certain vehicles, a connection at the electric power steering (EPS) motor may have been damaged at time of assembly. This could lead to a loss of the steering assist. A loss of power steering assist could unexpectedly increase steering effort which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Certain vehicles were assembled with a front passenger seat that was not approved. As a result, the front passenger occupant classification system may not work properly. This could cause the airbag warning light to turn on, and the seat belt and airbag system may not work as designed in a crash.

A seat belt or airbag that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
