On certain vehicles, the front fog light bulb socket was installed improperly. If the vehicle continues to operate with this condition, the bulb socket and the wiring harness may separate from the fog light housing as a result of exposure to vehicle vibration. Should this occur, the bulb socket and the harness can drop inside the bumper and in the worst case, the heat generated can cause the bumper to burn.

On certain vehicles, fuses in the passenger side interior fuse box might have been installed incorrectly during assembly. This could result in one or more fuses losing electrical contact, which could affect different system functions, such as front passenger seat occupancy recognition, passenger side airbag indicator lamp, the instrument cluster and the windshield wipers. Should the front passenger seat occupancy recognition system be disabled, and the passenger side airbag indicator lamp be affected, there would be no visual warning that the passenger frontal airbag is not operating correctly. Failure of the passenger frontal airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. On certain vehicles, the wire harness connecting the Belt Tension Sensor (BTS) and the Occupant Detection Sensor (ODS) control unit under the front passenger seat can experience relative movement, possibly caused by vehicle vibration or passenger loading on the seat cushion. The movement may cause the pin & sleeve terminals in the connecter to rub against each other. This could lead to a signal interruption from the BTS to the ODS control unit. If a signal interruption is detected, the passenger airbag is designed to suppress and, if this occurred, the red supplemental airbag warning light would flash & the amber front passenger airbag status light would illuminate to alert the vehicle operator that the passenger airbag is not operating. In a crash, non-operative airbags could increase the risk of personal injury or death.

Certain 2013 model year vehicles with a 6-speed automatic transmission may have been manufactured with insufficient clearance between the power steering pressure tube and the bosses on the converter housing of the automatic transaxle. This may cause the power steering pressure tube to rust from abrasive contact between the two components. In the worst case, a pin hole could develop and allow for power steering fluid leakage, which can result in the loss of power steering assist and increase the risk of crash causing injury and/or property damage.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling a 2019 S450 vehicle. The A, B, and C pillar covers may have been improperly installed, possibly affecting the deployment of the side curtain air bags and allowing the covers to detach in the event of a crash.
If a side curtain air bag does not deploy as intended, or the pillar covers detach during a crash, there is an increased risk of injury.
MBUSA will notify the owner, and a dealer will inspect the pillar covers, reinstalling them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began September 13, 2019. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2019080006.
On certain vehicles, the shoulder portion of the seatbelt for the middle row right side seat of the seven passenger model and center seat in the eight passenger model, may bind in the bezel trim piece. If the seatbelt binds in the bezel, there is a possibility that extra webbing may exist in the seatbelt which could result in an improperly fitted seatbelt on a passenger. If the vehicle battery becomes significantly discharged and the voltage in the electrical system drops (because, for example, the ignition is left in the "ON" position for a significant length of time without the engine running), the Airbag Control unit (ACU) is designed to suppress the passenger airbag and illuminate the passenger airbag status light. When the battery recharges and correct voltage is restored, the ACU is designed to reactivate the passenger airbag system. On certain vehicles, incorrect software programming may not allow the ACU to reactivate the airbag as intended. This can result in the passenger airbag being suppressed without lighting the warning indicator and the airbag status light.
