On certain hybrid vehicles, if the vehicle continues to be operated for a prolonged period of time following a cooling system malfunction that causes the vehicle to overheat, the hybrid powertrain control module will shut off the engine, as designed, to prevent damage. This could cause the engine to shut off while the vehicle is in motion, which would result in a loss of motive power which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the software for the hybrid control module, automatic transmission control unit and inverter to allow the engine to continue operating at reduced power in the event of a cooling system malfunction.

On certain vehicles, the passenger (frontal) airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the passenger airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the passenger airbag inflator.
THE HIGH TENSION LEAD FROM THE IGNITION COIL MAY MOVE FROM ITS PRODUCTION LOCATION CLOSER TO THE #4A FUEL INJECTOR HOSE. THIS COULD RESULT IN OZONE DEGRADATION OF THE INJECTOR HOSE AND POSSIBLE FUEL LEAKS. SUCH LEAKS COULD CAUSE AN UNDERHOOD FIRE.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
BOTH "A & B" BANK HIGH TENSION KING LEADS WILL BE REPLACED. #4 INJECTOR HOSE WILL BE INSPECTED FOR SIGNS OF CRACKING/SPLITTING AND REPLACED AS NECESSARY.
On certain motorcycles, the stator coil insulation could become damaged and short circuit due to insufficient heat resistance. This could decrease electrical output which could allow the battery to discharge. This low battery voltage could result in a loss of speedometer function and could cause the engine to stall and unable to be restarted, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the stator coil with a new one with sufficient heat resistance.

Safety Risk
HEAT DAMAGE, INCLUDING MELTING OR CHARRING OF THE FUEL PUMP AND SENDER ASSEMBLY WIRE HARNESS AND ASSOCIATED WIRING HARNESSES CAN ALSO RESULT. THE SHORT CIRCUIT COULD ALSO HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE FIRE.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A FUSED JUMPER HARNESS IN THE FUEL PUMP GROUND CIRCUIT THAT WILL BE INSTALLED AT THE FUEL PUMP INERTIA SHUT-OFF SWITCH.
On certain vehicles, the pivot bolt, which holds the brake pedal to its support bracket, could disengage from the bracket weld nut resulting in loss of braking action. This could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning.

On certain vehicles, the lower control link assembly collars (forming the inboard attachment point to the chassis) may not have been manufactured correctly. If the collar weld fails, the cylindrical collar can open, which will allow the collar to slip over the mounting bolt and bushing. This may change the wheel camber, which could allow vehicle handling characteristics to deteriorate, possibly resulting in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the lower control link assembly.

On certain motorcycles, under severe riding conditions, the left front brake hose may contact the left front brake rotor (during extremely heavy application of the front brake). This could cause brake fluid to leak, creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the front brake hose. Additionally, the front brake hose will be repositioned to prevent contact with the brake rotor.
