Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2022 Tiguan, Taos, and 2021 Tiguan long wheel base (LWB) vehicles. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts become available. The left or right rear suspension knuckles may corrode, crack, and break.
Safety Risk
A broken rear suspension knuckle can cause a loss of stability, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace one or both rear suspension knuckles, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 13, 2022. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 42L8.
On certain vehicles, the rear wheel alignment was not checked during recall AMA9 (Transport Canada Recall 2021-236). As a result, the steering could pull to one side or another and the tires could wear unevenly. If you continue to drive the vehicle in this condition, there may be reduced traction. Eventually, a tire could fail and lose air pressure.

Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment, as necessary. Additionally, the dealer will inspect the rear tires for premature and uneven wear due to this issue, and replace them if necessary.
On certain vehicles, the rear wheel alignment was not checked during recall 42L1 (Transport Canada Recall 2021-249). On certain motorcycles, the link strut that connects the rear suspension to the frame could break. If this happens, the motorcycle can drop suddenly and contact the rear wheel. This could cause a sudden loss of stability or a loss of control.

BMW Motorrad will contact owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the rear link strut.
On certain vehicles, the protective coating on the rear suspension toe links may chip away. If this happens, the metal can rust and the toe link could break. A broken toe link can affect vehicle stability and could cause a loss of directional control.
Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recalls 2020-615 and 2021-510. This recall only affects vehicles that were originally sold or ever registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador).

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Model Y vehicles. The front and rear suspension knuckles may fracture, causing the suspension links to separate.
Safety Risk
Suspension links that separate can reduce vehicle stability and control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Tesla Service will inspect and replace the knuckles as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 18, 2022. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-21-31-004.
On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the front suspension lateral links to the sub-frame may not be properly tightened. Over time, the bolts could loosen and the lateral links could separate from the sub-frame. If this happens, there could be sudden changes in wheel alignment and a loss of vehicle stability.

Remedy
Tesla will notify owners by e-mail and arrange for an inspection the front lateral link bolts. Tesla Service will tighten or replace the bolts, as necessary.
On certain vehicles that have had one (or both) of the rear wheel knuckle(s) replaced, the outer ball joint for the rear suspension toe link may seize. If this happens, the toe link could break while driving. This could cause a sudden loss of vehicle stability.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a rear ball joint manufactured by ZF.

Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect if it has had ball joints installed to replace the original bushings in the rear suspension. On certain vehicles, the rear axle carrier side mounts may crack and eventually break. If both mounts break while driving, there could be a sudden loss of vehicle control.

On certain vehicles, the adjustable rear toe link may not have been properly tightened during a previous service repair. As a result, the toe link could loosen and eventually separate. This could cause a sudden loss of vehicle stability.
Note: You may notice the following warning symptoms if a rear toe link is loose:
- sway or wander while driving;
- loud metallic or other unusual noise from the rear suspension;
- the steering wheel may be off-center;
- the Stabilitrak malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may stay on or flash while driving;
- Uneven wear between the rear tires.
If you detect these symptoms, you should stop driving and have the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership.

On certain vehicles, the rear axle housings may not have been properly heat-treated. As a result, a strong impact (such as hitting a curb) could cause a rear axle housing to bend or break. If this happens, a wheel could be mis-aligned or there could be a loss of control and a wheel could separate.

Remedy
Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the production date on the casting stamp of the rear axle housings. Parts that are affected by this problem will be replaced.
On certain vehicles, the front lower trailing arms may be defective and could break. If a trailing arm breaks, there could be a sudden loss of vehicle control.

On certain vehicles, the bolts for the rear stabilizer bracket could loosen over time. This may cause a rattling notice from the rear of the vehicle. If you continue to drive with this problem, the bolts could detach. If this happens, vehicle stability could be reduced.

Remedy
Subaru will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the condition of the bolts on the rear stabilizer bracket, and tighten them, if necessary. If a bolt is missing, the dealer will install a new bolt.
On certain CBR100RR-R (Fireblade SP) models, the rear shock connecting plate may not have been installed correctly. As a result, the plate may break suddenly while riding and cause a drop in vehicle height. If this happens, the stability and control of the motorcycle could be affected.

Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a Honda Powersport dealer to inspect the left and right rear shock connecting plates. If they are not correctly installed, they will be replaced.
On certain trucks, the U-bolts that attach the rear axle to the suspension may not be properly tightened. As a result, the axle could slide back and separate from the propeller shaft. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels.

Remedy
Isuzu will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect and, if necessary, replace and tighten the rear axle U-bolt nuts.
Certain vehicles may have been assembled with defective front lower control arms (transverse links). As a result, the outer ball joint could separate from the arm and cause a loss of vehicle control.
