On certain vehicles, the 6-spoke "monobloc" rear wheels were not properly heat treated and could develop cracks on the inside of the spokes. The cracking, which is not necessarily visible to the naked eye, could affect the integrity of the wheels which could result in a loss of vehicle control.
On certain vehicles, the material specification of the wheel spacer may not be suitable for some applications where severe operating conditions can result in degradation of the wheel spacer. This could lead to a loss of clamp load, which may result in loose wheel nuts. If the wheel nuts loosen for any reason, damage to the wheel studs and/or wheel may occur, which if left uncorrected, may lead to complete separation of the wheel(s) from the vehicle.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the wheel spacers and inspect and replace (as required) the wheels and wheel equipment.

On certain motorcycles, the rear wheel may have been incorrectly installed on the rear wheel hub. The four hub pins may not have been engaged into the proper rear wheel rim holes, and could have been mis-installed in the wheel casting recesses. If the rear wheel was incorrectly installed and the four hub pins are not engaged, there is the possibility for the pins to rotate within the wheel casting recesses. If left unaddressed, the movement of the wheel can cause failure of the drive pins, resulting in loss of propulsion and loss of rear wheel braking, increasing the risk of injury to the rider and/or passenger.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the rear wheel rim and install and adhere four rubber inserts in the rear wheel rim hub casting recesses to avoid the possibility of incorrect installation.
