On certain vehicles, the wiring harness for the steering column switch module may have been incorrectly routed during manufacturing. This could cause the harness to chafe on the steering column adjustment, which could affect or cause one or more of the following systems to fail: turn signals, gear selector, Electric Power Steering (EPS) or Electronic stability control functions. Additionally, this condition could potentially cause the engine to stall, and could affect proper airbag deployment or cause an airbag to deploy inadvertently. These potential outcomes in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect, repair and reroute the wiring harness as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the insulated bulkhead connector (used to join the two halves of the positive battery cable) may have been incorrectly installed during vehicle assembly. Over time, the bolt connection could loosen, which would increase electrical resistance. In addition, an incorrectly insulated bulkhead connector could allow humidity to accumulate at this location, causing current leakage. These issues could cause the cable connection to overheat, which could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, as necessary, secure the insulated bulkhead connector. In addition, protective grease will be added to the area and the plastic battery positive terminal cover will be replaced.

On certain motorcycles, the fuel tank breather hose may have been installed incorrectly, causing it to be pinched between the frame and other neighboring components. In high ambient temperatures, the pressure inside the fuel tank could build-up, resulting in the bulging of the tank near the rear tire. Severe suspension compression, with a high payload, can cause the bottom of the tank to rub against the rear wheel, potentially resulting in a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. Also, the rear wheel could lose traction as a result of fuel spillage, which could cause a vehicle crash with personal injuries or death.
