On certain vehicles, the compliance label does not list the vehicle type in French and lists incorrect measuring units for the gross axle weight ratings (GAWR). This could lead to overloading of the vehicle and cause poor handling or a tire failure. Additionally, the tire and loading information label may be printed in English only. Canadian regulations require this information to be listed on the labels in both English and French.
Safety Risk
Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a label that is missing information in French could cause confusion.
Remedy
FCA will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the compliance label. A French tire and loading information label will also be installed, if necessary.
