The heat shield for the gas generator for the side air bags may have been incorrectly installed during the air bag manufacturing process, potentially reducing the performance of the air bag. On certain motorcycles, a weld between the side stand and the frame bottom section was not positioned properly, and as a consequence, the load-bearing capability of the side stand has been compromised.
