On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag inflator. For the GL1800 model, dealers will replace the airbag module.
Note: A subset of 2006 B-Series (vehicles built from August 18, 2005 through November 3, 2005) may pose a higher risk of driver side airbag rupture than other recalled airbags. These vehicles are being recalled separately due to high risk under campaign 2218A. Click here to determine if your vehicle is affected. Vehicles subject to 2218A should not be driven - Contact a Mazda dealer immediately to have the vehicle repaired.

On certain vehicles, the driver airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver frontal airbag inflator.

On certain vehicles located in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador, the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) may corrode due to a significant quantity of snow and/or water containing road salt or other contaminants entering the vehicle and saturating the acoustical padding beneath the floor carpet. If sufficient moisture collects and is retained in the padding, it may cause excessive corrosion under the module; compromising the module seal and allowing water intrusion and system malfunction. This may result in illumination of the Airbag Readiness light along with a "Service Airbag" message on the Driver Information Center and, in certain instances, may cause inadvertent deployment of the seatbelt pretensioner and/or airbags. Inadvertent deployment of the driver and / or passenger front airbag in a non-accident (non-impact) situation may cause damage to the surrounding vehicle environment (windshield / instrument panel), and create expensive vehicle repair, including replacement of the airbag module(s). In some instances, inadvertent deployment could cause minor injuries to vehicle occupants.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will remove the acoustic pad above the SDM.
Certain vehicles may have been equipped with airbag inflators that do not meet specifications. This could cause affected airbags to fail to deploy in the event of a crash, which could increase the risk of injury to the occupants.
Safety Risk

Remedy
Dealers will replace affected airbag modules.

On certain vehicles, the air bag control unit may not work properly due to a software error. As a result, the airbag warning light and warning messages may not turn on when there is a problem with the airbag system or the pedestrian protection system.
Safety Risk
An airbag system that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the airbag control unit software. To reduce the safety risk, BMW recommends that you should not transport any passengers until the recall repairs have been completed.

On certain vehicles, the Occupant Control Unit (OCU) of the ODS (Occupant Detection System) may incorrectly identify a front passenger occupant when seated in the front passenger seat if the passenger touches a metal part of the vehicle that is electrically grounded (i.e. forward/reward seat adjustment lever) while using an IPod or cell phone plugged into the accessory power outlet. This may result in the deactivation of the ODS, and cause the Air Bag Warning Light to illuminate and the Passenger Air Bag Indicator would illuminate “OFF”, providing a visual warning that the air bag system is not operating properly. Failure of the passenger frontal airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the Occupant Control Unit (OCU) with a revised one.

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection. The passenger seat occupant classification system (OCS) may have been calibrated incorrectly during the manufacturing process. This could result in the non-deployment of an airbag, which would increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash where airbag deployment is warranted.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the occupant classification system (OCS).

Safety Risk
An airbag that does not work properly in a crash could increase the risk of injury to the driver.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to check the driver airbag module and the software for the airbag system. If necessary, the airbag will be replaced and the software will be updated.

On certain two-door coupe vehicles, in the event of a collision that warrants a deployment of the front passenger airbag, the deploying airbag could strike the passenger sun visor if it is in the down position. This could cause the sun visor to detach from its mounting bracket, potentially contacting an occupant, which would increase the risk of injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will add a tether strap to the passenger sun visor.

On certain vehicles, the front passenger seat occupant classification system software may incorrectly classify the passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult. If this occurs, the passenger airbag would be deactivated without the illumination of the airbag warning lamp. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the occupant classification system. This is an expansion of recall 2014-093.
On certain trucks, the wiring in the steering wheel clockspring could become damaged. If this happens, the airbag could disconnect. This would cause the airbag warning lamp to turn on, and the driver-front airbag would not inflate in a crash. The problem may also cause the horn or other steering wheel-mounted controls not to work properly.
Safety Risk
An airbag that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the steering wheel clockspring.
