On certain vehicles, improper manufacturing of the Crankshaft Position Sensor body could cause engine oil to penetrate the seal and enter the sensor wiring connector. In addition, the wire harness connector may not be sufficiently attached to the locking tab of the sensor wiring connector. Engine oil inside the sensor wiring connector could cause expansion due to the heat of the engine and could deform the sensor wiring connector. In the worst case, the connector may become disconnected, which could cause the engine to stall while driving and not be able to be restarted.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

On certain motorcycles, the rear brake line joint may have been improperly torqued during assembly. This could cause brake fluid to leak from the loose connection, resulting in a reduction or loss of rear brake pressure. This could increase stopping distances and affect vehicle control, which could result in crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will torque the rear brake line joint to specification and if necessary, fill the rear brake reservoir.

On certain vehicles, the screws holding the engine bay fuse box could become loose over time. If this happens, the fuse box could vibrate excessively, which could damage the fuses inside. Damaged fuses could cause certain vehicle functions to stop working without warning. As a result, the engine could turn off, there could be a loss of power steering assist, and/or the ESP and active brake assist systems could turn off.
Safety Risk
A sudden loss of engine power, power steering assist, ESP system and/or active brake assist could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect and tighten the screws holding the fuse box, if necessary.

On certain motorcycles, engine vibration can cause the fuel tank fitting bracket to contact the fuel tank. Over time, this contact may cause fatigue cracking and could result in possible fuel leakage, which in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. In addition, it is possible for water to contaminate the main switch and develop corrosion, which may cause the engine to stall while riding. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the fuel tank bracket and the main switch subassembly with parts of a different design.
