On certain vehicles, the transmission oil cooler hose may detach due to the use of clamps with insufficient clamping force, causing transmission fluid leakage and the illumination of the malfunction indicator light in the dashboard. Continued operation in this condition could result in noise, vibration and a loss of motive power which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.
On certain vehicles, an engine mounted oil feed pipe may rupture, causing an oil leak. Oil may contact a hot engine or exhaust component, which could result in a fire. As well, engine oil spilt on the roadway could endanger other road users by making the roadway unexpectedly slippery. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the engine oil feed pipe with an updated design.
On certain vehicles, the power steering cooler hose may separate from the power brake booster fluid flow switch assembly. If this occurs, power steering fluid could flow onto hot engine parts and an engine compartment fire could occur.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect, and, if necessary, install three new screw clamps to the power steering hose joints.

On certain vehicles, if the rear axle trailing arms are damaged in a rear or side-rear impact crash and a repair facility does not correctly diagnose or replace damaged rear axle components, rear trailing arm durability could be reduced, which could result in a sudden fracture of the trailing arm. This could lead to a loss of vehicle control, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a sheet metal inlay on both rear axle trailing arms. The inlay is designed to help prevent the sudden loss of vehicle control should a rear axle trailing arm fracture occur if undiagnosed/unrepaired damage exists from a previous rear or side-rear impact/crash.

On certain vehicles, the wiring harness for the power steering control unit may have been damaged during production. As a result, moisture may enter the wiring harness and cause a loss of power steering assist or a short circuit.
Safety Risk
A loss of power steering assist may result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash. A short circuit could create a fire risk.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the wiring harness for the steering control unit and replace it, if necessary.

On certain vehicles, a bad connection at the side airbag sensor connector could cause a momentary communication loss from the side airbag sensor to the Airbag Control Unit (ACU). This would put the system in a backup state, lowering the impact threshold required for a side airbag deployment. If a door is being closed with force while the system is in this backup state, this could cause an unintended curtain airbag, seat-mounted side airbag and seat belt pretensioner deployment in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, which would increase the risk of injury to occupants.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a jumper harness and replace the side airbag sensor with a new one.

On certain electric vehicles, the drive gear in the rear axle drivetrain may not have been properly welded. As a result, the weld for the drive gear could break and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, the vehicle could move when it's parked and the parking brake isn't applied.
Note: This recall only affects certain eSprinter models.
Safety Risk
A loss of power to the wheels or a parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury and/or a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the rear axle electric drivetrain.

ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, IT MAY BE POSSIBLE FOR THE FRONT BRAKE LINE TO SLIP OUT OF THE RETAINING BRACKET LOCATED AT THE FRONT STRUT. THE BRAKE HOSE THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE BRAKE LINE COULD COME IN CONTACT WITH THE TIRE AND BE SUBJECTED TO WEAR AND ABRASION.
Safety Risk
THIS COULD INITIALLY CAUSE SOME BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE, AND EVENTUALLY LEAD TO A SUBSTANTIAL LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID. THERE COULD BE A NOTICEABLE REDUCTION IN BRAKE PERFORMANCE IF A LOSS OF FRONT BRAKE PERFORMANCE OCCURS.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL RETAINING CLIP TO FURTHER SECURE THE BRAKE LINE TO THE FRONT STRUT. ADDITIONALLY, IF INSPECTION OF ANY BRAKE HOSE INDICATES THAT IT HAS EXPERIENCED DAMAGE, THE HOSE WILL BE REPLACED. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN FEBRUARY 14, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT BMW AT 1-800-831-1117.
Hyundai Auto Canada is conducting a Product Improvement Campaign that provides an update to the engine control module to detect potential problems before an engine fails. An engine failure would cause a sudden loss of power with an inability to restart.
Note: This affects Sonata and Santa Fe Sport equipped with a 2.4 L GDI or 2.0 L Turbo GDI engine, as well as Tucson equipped with a 2.4 L GDI engine.
Safety Risk
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of an accident.
Remedy
The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the engine control module. Note: Vehicles previously repaired under Product Improvement Campaign R0153 (TC # 2019-130) do not require this software update.
