On certain vehicles, the side curtain airbag inflator(s) could rupture and separate unexpectedly. As a result, a piece of metal from the inflator could be propelled toward vehicle occupants with or without the airbag(s) deploying. This could also cause the side curtain airbag(s) not to inflate properly in a crash.
Note: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2024-241.
Safety Risk
An airbag inflator that ruptures can create a risk of injury. Additionally, an airbag that doesn't inflate properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the side curtain airbag(s), as necessary.
On certain vehicles, the driver's side air bag may not deploy as designed, resulting in reduced capability of the air bag to protect the driver. In addition, the air bag inflator may fracture. If this were to occur, pieces of the inflator could strike and injure the vehicle occupants.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealer will inspect, and if necessary, install a new driver's air bag.

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function.
Note: This is a new recall campaign that includes vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced under a previous recall or had a replacement airbag installed. The previous recall provided an interim (short-term) repair. Interim repair parts must be replaced with the final repair parts provided in this recall.
Safety Risk
If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury.
Remedy
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver and/or passenger-front airbag inflator.
Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.
Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2014 Suzuki DL1000 motorcycles manufactured January 17, 2014 to June 5, 2014, and 2015 Suzuki DL1000 motorcycles manufactured November 5, 2014, to February 6, 2015. Due to corrosion or being attached to the painted engine case, the battery ground connection may have poor electrical conductivity.
Safety Risk
As a result of the poor conductivity, the engine may stall and be unable to be restarted, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will relocate the battery ground connection to an unpainted surface and replace the ground wire protector with a high-heat resistance tube, free of charge. The recall began on January 29, 2016. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service number at 1-714-996-7040. Suzuki's number for this recall is 2A53.

On certain vehicles, under ambient temperatures below -25 degrees Celsius, moisture can freeze in the fuel pressure regulator. As a result, fuel system pressure may increase at the time of engine start up, causing fuel loss at the fuel pipe/fuel hose connection. Fuel loss in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
For 1999-2000 model year vehicles, dealers will (1) replace the fuel pressure regulator & vacuum hose and change the system routing to accommodate use of a higher surge tank attachment location that will prevent water from being sucked into the fuel pressure regulator, and (2) replace the fuel delivery hose and replace the hose clamp with an improved clamp. For 2001 and later model year vehicles, dealers will only replace the fuel pressure regulator & vacuum hose and change the system routing as described above.

On certain motorcycles, the fuel pump retaining clips contain a surface defect. This defect creates a stress riser and can cause the retaining clip to fail. When the clip fails, the fuel pump is allowed to separate from the fuel regulator resulting in a loss of fuel pressure. This loss of fuel pressure can cause the engine to quit running unexpectedly.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the fuel pump retaining clip.
