On certain vehicles equipped with the Easy-Vario rear seat option, the rear screws used to bolt the rear seat to the body of the vehicle may be missing on one side. In the event of a crash, the rear seats may lift up from the body and the seat belt anchoring may not function as designed which could increase the risk of injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair the rear seats as necessary.
On certain vehicles, the rear outboard seat belts may contain defective automatic locking retractors (ALR). As a result, the seat belts may not work properly to secure a child seat.
Note: The vehicle's lower universal anchorage system (UAS) is not affected by this defect and may still be used to secure a child seat.
Safety Risk
A seat belt that is used to secure a child restraint but isn't properly locked could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Audi will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear outboard seat belt(s).

THE WIRE HARNESS ON THESE SEATS IS BANDED TO THE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SUPPORTS. THE END OF ONE OF THE SUPPORTS CAN PUNCTURE THE HARNESS, RESULTING IN A HIGH RESISTANCE ELECTRICAL SHORT.
Safety Risk
OVERHEATING CAN RESULT, AND MELTING, SMOKE AND POSSIBLE IGNITION OF THE SURROUNDING MATERIALS CAN OCCUR.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE TIE STRAP FROM EACH OF THE FRONT SEATS.
On certain vehicles, the second row seat side trim shield may restrict the upward rotation of the safety belt buckle when the seat back is returned to a seating position after being folded flat. If the buckle contacts the seat frame, additional effort is required to return the seat to a seating position. If sufficient force is applied, the buckle cover could be pushed down the strap, exposing and partially depressing the red release button. As a result, the release button will not travel as much as designed when depressed and will appear to be jammed. The buckle cover may have visible damage which may only be cosmetic, but in some cases, the buckle may not latch/unlatch, or may appear to latch when the latch mechanism is not fully engaged. If the latch mechanism is not fully engaged, the safety belt may not restrain the occupant as intended in a crash, which could result in personal injury or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will modify the second row seat side trim shields, inspect the belt buckle and will replace it if damaged.
