VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH TURBINE SPOKE CAST ALUMINUM WHEELS. THE CAST ALUMINUM WHEELS MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH LUG NUT COUNTERBORES OF INADEQUATE DEPTH SUCH THAT THE LUG NUT WILL NOT HAVE PROPER THREAD ENGAGEMENT. THIS MAY CAUSE THE LUG NUT TO LOOSEN RESULTING IN WHEEL SEPARATION.
On certain vehicles, the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) may corrode due to a significant quantity of snow and/or water containing road salt or other contaminants entering the vehicle and saturating the acoustical padding beneath the floor carpet. If sufficient moisture collects and is retained in the padding, it may cause excessive corrosion under the module; compromising the module seal and allowing water intrusion and system malfunction. This may result in illumination of the Airbag Readiness light along with a "Service Airbag" message on the Driver Information Center and, in certain instances, may cause inadvertent deployment of the seatbelt pretensioner and/or airbags. Inadvertent airbag and/or pretensioner deployment could result in injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will remove the acoustical pad above the SDM, inspect, and if necessary, replace the SDM.

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function.
Safety Risk
If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury.
Remedy
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the passenger-front airbag inflator or airbag module replaced.
Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.
On certain motorcycles, the positive battery connector could contact the battery support and result in a short circuit. On vehicles with ABS, electrical current could be conducted over the front brake lines to the frame, thereby increasing brake line temperature and impairing front brake performance. In extreme cases, the current could melt a hold in an empty or low fuel tank. In the worst case, fuel leakage and/or fire could result.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
DPositive battery terminal extension will be removed and the positive cable will be attached directly to the battery with a bolt.
