On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 17C01 (Transport Canada recall no. 2017-040) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument panel cluster screen not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the gear selection, speedometer, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales.
Safety Risk
Warnings, gauges, gear selection and tell-tales indicators that don't display could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster software.

On certain Defender X models, the brake lights, turn signals and/or tail lights may suddenly turn off if a bright light shines directly on them.
Safety Risk
Brake lights or turn signals that do not work properly could make the vehicle less visible. They could also cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rear lamp assemblies.

Certain vehicles do not comply with the marking requirements of CMVSS 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The High/Low beam headlamp on these vehicles does not bear a "DOT" marking which is required by the standard.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
All High/Low beam headlamp bulbs installed since February 8, 2000 have the correct marking. Since the subject bulbs meets or exceed the performance and design requirements of the standard, and the missing marking will not cause a person to replace, fit or use the bulb in a manner for which they are not intended, no further action will be taken.
Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. Some vehicles equipped with LED headlamps were built with defective support brackets which can cause the daytime running lamp light guide to shift out of design position. If this occurs, the support bracket can melt due to the increased exposure to the LED light energy. This can cause melted material to partially block the end of the light guide, subsequently causing a loss of lighting performance which could result in failure to meet the daytime running lamp light output requirements of the standard. This could result in the vehicle being less visible to other drivers, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace both headlamp assemblies.

Certain vehicles equipped with an anti-lock brake system (ABS) and without electronic stability control (ESC) may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 105 - Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems. The brake system indicator tell-tale may not illuminate during the lamp function check when the ignition is initially turned to the “ON” (run) position, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will correct the coding of the instrument cluster software.

Certain motorcycles fail to comply with CMVSS 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. With the ignition switch in the ON position, and the headlamp switch in the OFF position, only the small bulb inside the headlamp housing is lit. Without full headlamp illumination, the vehicle may be less visible to other motorists and pedestrians during daylight hours, possibly resulting in a crash causing personal injury or death.
Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. Although the daytime running lamps incorporate a feature that temporarily deactivates them on the side of the vehicle where the turn signal lamp is activated, one or both of the daytime running lamps could remain deactivated after repeated cycling of the turn signal switch. A loss of daytime running lamp illumination could render the vehicle less visible to other motorists and to pedestrians during daylight hours, possibly resulting in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will update the instrument panel module software.

On certain vehicles, covers were not installed over the horizontal headlamp adjusters. As a result, the headlamps may be adjusted horizontally. Canadian regulations do not allow for horizontal headlamp adjustment unless the vehicle is equipped with a built-in aiming device.
Safety Risk
Headlamps that are not properly adjusted could cause reduced visibility or glare for oncoming drivers, and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Lamborghini will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install caps over the headlamp adjustment screws.
Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The headlamp bulb type markings do not comply with the requirements of the standard.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
A manufacturing change has been undertaken to prevent this non-compliance condition from continuing. No corrective recall action is required as the non-compliance condition is deemed to be non-safety related.
Certain vehicles equipped with LED headlamps may not meet the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. A production problem may cause the front turn signal lamps to produce pink or violet light, instead of amber, which is contrary to requirements of the standard. This could result in nearby road users being confused by the turn signal lamps flashing a different colour than normal, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the colour of the front turn signals, and replace the LED module if necessary.
Certain vehicles may experience the loss of one or more rear lamp functions (tail, brake, turn and reverse). Failure of any rear lamp function may result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions, as well as reducing vehicle conspicuity during hours of darkness, which could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace rear bulb carriers with an updated design.
On certain vehicles, the automatic headlamps may not turn on soon enough as it gets dark. Canadian regulations require automatic headlamps to turn on when the ambient light level drops below a certain point (1000 lux).
Safety Risk
Headlamps that don't turn on as it gets dark could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the body control module (BCM).

A design change removal of a fog lamp circuit relay allows the fog lamps to be activated with the headlamp switch in the OFF position and the tail lamps, side marker lamps, parking lamps and licence plate lamps not illuminated.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a relay and wring overlay on affected vehicles.

On certain vehicles, the passenger airbag disabled indicator may not be properly secured to the instrument panel and could become loose. As a result, you might not be aware if the passenger-front airbag is on or off.
Safety Risk
A passenger airbag disabled indicator that can't be seen could cause confusion. This could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install clips to secure the passenger airbag disabled indicator to the instrument panel.
