On certain King Cab vehicles, wires routed through the rear doors and into the body may break due to over bending as the door is opened and closed. The affected wires control seatbelt pretensioners, the front passenger seatbelt tension sensor (part of the occupant classification system), and the rear audio speakers. If the wires for the seatbelt pretensioner and speaker break and make contact, a pretensioner may deploy. If this happens when the seatbelt is retracted, it will not be possible to use the seatbelt. If wires for the seatbelt tension sensor break, the passenger side front airbag will not deploy as designed in a frontal crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Owners of vehicles with malfunctioning front outer seatbelt(s), malfunctioning rear audio speakers, or where the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) indicator light is on are advised to bring their vehicle to a dealer for inspection. If there is a malfunction of the rear door wiring harness, the harness will be replaced.

Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts and CMVSS 115 - Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Excess bulkhead insulation material may have been used during manufacturing, and as a result, could extend into the lower area of the windshield. This excess insulation could cover the VIN label, and potentially affect bonding of the windshield. If the windshield bonding is affected on the passenger side, in the event of a crash (where passenger frontal airbag deployment is warranted), the airbag may not deploy as designed, which would fail to meet the requirements of the standard, and increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the bulkhead insulation for excess material and remove it as necessary. In the event of compromised windshield bonding, the bonding will be reworked.
On certain vehicles, the edge of the seat belt retractor bracket on the third-row seat may contact the seat belt webbing during certain operating conditions. As a result, the seat belt may not properly restrain third-row seat occupants during a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury.
