On certain vehicles, the front trunk (frunk) hood latch may not be positioned properly. As a result, the secondary latch may not hold the hood closed. This could cause the hood to open suddenly while driving if the primary hood latch is released.
Safety Risk
A hood that opens suddenly while driving could block the driver's view and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Tesla will notify owners by e-mail and arrange for an inspection of the secondary hood latch. If the hood doesn't latch properly, Tesla Service will reassemble and reposition the latch mechanism.

On certain Audi 5000 turbo and 5000 Quattro, repeated `topping off' of the fuel tank after the gas station pump has stopped the fuel supply during refuelling, reduces the expansion space within the fuel tank. Consequent pressure conditions within the evaporative emission control system could result in fuel vapours being released into the engine compartment. Heat from the turbo exhaust system could ignite the vapours and cause an engine compartment fire with a risk of injury to the vehicle occupants.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Vehicles will be fitted with a new vent valve and a new type charcoal filter vent hose. In addition, Quattro models will receive a redesigned fuel filler neck.

This could result in the non-deployment of an airbag, which would increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash where airbag deployment is warranted.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the occupant classification system (OCS).

On certain vehicles, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System could display an incorrect message on the additional information screen stating: “Low Tyre Pressure – Max Speed 50 MPH (80 KM/H)” instead of “Low Tyre Pressure – Do not proceed.”. The driver may be misinformed of their tire condition and could drive on punctured tires which could result in a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will update the Tire Pressure Monitoring System settings.

On certain vehicles the accelerator linkage return springs which were not properly stress relieved may break. This could potentially result in the vehicle going to full throttle, and could prevent the throttle from returning to idle when the driver's foot is removed from the accelerator pedal. Should this occur, the vehicle would not decelerate as expected and in the event that minimum stopping distances are required, a vehicle crash could occur without prior warning.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Accelerator linkage return spring(s) will be replaced.

On certain vehicles, the electric power steering control unit may have been manufactured with improperly soldered contacts. If the pins of the control unit were to lose complete contact, it could lead to a short circuit within the control unit, increasing the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. In addition, the condition could result in a loss of power steering assist, which would increase steering effort and increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the electric power steering control module.
On certain vehicles, the fuel pump flange may develop fine cracks or fissures, which could result in a fuel leak. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will apply a butyl protective film to the fuel pump flange. If cracks are present, the fuel pump flange will be replaced.

Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 120 - Tire rim designation. These vehicles have an incomplete tire rim designation indicated on the compliance label. If a customer replaces a wheel with one that has a rim contour that is inappropriate for use with the tires on the vehicle, the mounting of the tire to the wheel and/or the tire/wheel assembly may not perform as designed/intended. In addition, certain vehicles are also missing the tire load rating on the label. If a tire of a lesser load rating than the original tire is installed, the tire may not be able to sustain the loads encountered during use.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a new partial label over the existing label. Corrected labels and application instructions will be mailed to customers. Dealers will receive labels for installation on the vehicles in inventory.

Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a two-speed PTU.
Safety Risk
A loss of power to the wheels or a parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury and/or a crash.

On certain vehicles, each side of the weight-distribution trailer hitch was attached by just two of the three specified fasteners. This could allow the hitch to move under towing loads and result in eventual failure of the fasteners. If this were to occur while a trailer was being pulled, the hitch and trailer could separate from the vehicle and a crash could occur without prior warning.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a bolt, two washers, and a nut on each side of the trailer hitch platform.

On certain vehicles, a mounting bolt for the rear axle housing could break. If this happens, the axle housing can move and cause clunking or banging noises and vibrations from the rear of the vehicle. It could also cause the driveshaft and axle shafts to disconnect. This would result in a loss of power to the rear wheels and the vehicle could move when the transmission is in Park, if the parking brake is not used.
Safety Risk
A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail. For Police Interceptor Utility models, you will be instructed to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace a bushing and the rear axle housing cover. For all other models, you will be instructed to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the engine control module (PCM) software to set the parking brake when the transmission is in the Park position.
