On certain vehicles, the head curtain airbags could contact the metal part of the front door seals when they inflate in a crash. If this happens, a side curtain airbag could tear. This could also cause the vehicle not to meet the ejection mitigation requirements of Canadian regulations.
Safety Risk
A head curtain airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to secure both front door seals.

On certain motorcycles, the rear brake hose and rear wheel sensor wire may be improperly routed and could come into contact with the rear tire. If the brake hose were to become damaged, it could leak brake fluid and reduce braking performance. If the wheel sensor were to become damaged, ABS functionality could be lost, vehicle speed may not displayed on the meter, and the ABS indicator light could illuminate. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and ensure the rear brake hose and rear wheel sensor wire are correctly routed. If the rear brake hose and/or rear wheel sensor is found damaged, they will be replaced as necessary.

On certain vehicles, if excessive vacuum is applied to the fuel tanks during the canister purge cycle, fuel tank distortion may result. After repeated exposure to the excessive vacuum, a stress crack may develop on the upper tank surface. This could result in fuel vapours or fuel escaping from the fuel tank.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Fuel cap will be replaced with one that is vented so as not to allow excessive fuel tank vacuum. Fuel tanks will be inspected for cracking and replaced if necessary.

On certain vehicles, the passenger occupant detection system (ODS) may malfunction. This could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger-front airbag even when a passenger is seated.
Safety Risk
An airbag that is turned off could increase the risk of injury to a passenger in a crash.
Remedy
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the ODS sensor mat harness. It will be replaced if necessary.

On certain vehicles, the fuel filler cap will not provide a proper seal around the fuel tank filler neck. In the event of a vehicle roll-over, fuel may be allowed to leak past the seal. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the fuel cap seal.

On certain vehicles, the roll rate sensors in the airbag control module may improperly calibrate if the vehicle experiences a body roll motion approximately four seconds after the ignition is turned to the ‘ON’ position. If the vehicle experiences another subsequent body roll motion, the system may erroneously detect a rollover, causing both of the side curtain airbags to deploy and the seat belt pre-tensioners to be activated. Unintended airbag and/or seat belt pre-tensioner deployment, in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, could result in injury and increase the risk of a vehicle crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the airbag control module with one which has improved programming.
On certain motorcycles, the final drive pulley retaining nut and the side stand plate fastening screw could loosen over time. If the final drive pulley nut becomes loose, the countershaft could spin on the belt primary drive pulley resulting in loss of power transmission to the rear wheel. If the lower side stand plate screw were to loosen, it could damage the side stand sensor switch, resulting in an engine stall, or if the bike were to be parked on the side stand, the side stand plate could deform/ break due to the excessive overload, causing the bike to fall. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the lower side stand plate fastening screw with a more resistant screw in order to increase the tightening torque, and install a new washer made with a harder material, and will tighten the final drive pulley retaining nut to an higher torque.

Safety Risk
A delay in the activation of the side airbag, curtain airbag and/or seat belt pretensioner could create an increased the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the crash sensors in both front doors and replace them, if necessary.

Certain vehicles equipped with rear inflatable seat belts may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 210 – Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages. The left rear inflatable seat belt buckle may have been assembled with a rivet that was improperly staked. As a result, the left rear seat belt assembly could separate from its mounting bracket during a crash, which could increase the risk of injury and would fail to meet the anchorage strength requirements of the standard.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the left rear seat belt buckle rivet, and replace the seat belt buckle assembly if necessary.
